A Murder Most Absurd
Postponed Indefinitely Due to COVID-19
A Message About A Murder Most Absurd:
Out of concern for the health and safety of the general public, the Lincoln-Way Theatre Guild Board has decided to postpone the performances of our interactive murder mystery “A Murder Most Absurd” at Trail’s Edge Brewery for the following dates: Friday March 20th; Saturday, March 21st; Friday, March 27th; and Saturday, March 28th. These performances will be rescheduled with Trail’s Edge Brewery at a later date.
All ticket purchases will be honored for these rescheduled shows. LWTG will announce these dates as soon as possible and would like to reassure our patrons that if they are unable to attend one of the re-scheduled shows, a request for a refund will be honored at that time.
We thank you for your support and look forward to being on stage in front of you soon.
Ticket Refunds
An email sent to all ticket buyers on June 8, 2020:
Good afternoon,
I hope this message is finding you safe, happy and healthy. I wanted to take a moment to keep you posted about ticket refunds for our March production of “A Murder Most Absurd”.
When we chose Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) for our event ticket vendor, they were highly recommended by several colleagues as well as having a great rating with the Better Business Bureau. When our event was cancelled due to COVID-19, Lincoln-way Theatre Guild (LWTG) asked for the money that BPT collected on our behalf. We could then refund our customers or give them the option to carry over their tickets to our rescheduled show in October. When we did not hear back from BPT or receive any funds to be returned to our patrons, we pursued them further. BPT told us they would refund all our patrons directly through their online method of payment. That was over a month ago. We have since been inquiring with them weekly to find out when our patrons can expect their refunds.
This message has since been posted on their website:
https://www.covid-recovery.brownpapertickets.org
Brown Paper Tickets has been insistent both in the message linked above and in all our communications with them that they would make this right. We are holding them to it, and LWTG has been in contact with the Better Business Bureau as a first step to making sure everyone gets their refunds. In addition, the LWTG Board of Directors are discussing further actions to be taken on behalf of our patrons, should this not be resolved soon.
Thank you for your patronage, and I think I speak for the rest of the Board of Directors that we are all so upset this happened. This is unacceptable and we will obviously never use this company again. Please bear with us as we navigate this and insist on our patron’s refunds from Brown Paper Tickets.
